          "about": "A long time ago, all the way back in 1995, an artist named Taciturne released a track called \"Der Toten\" which basically used a bunch of Aphex Twin samples and a snippet from Christopher Young's Hellraiser soundtrack. The track was a huge hit and if you look hard enough, you might still be able to find it on vinyl somewhere. We always liked the track but well... the quality of it left a lot to be desired. 8-bit samples and a pretty bad vinyl cut made it practically impossible to spin the track in combination with newer material. We liked it so much though that we decided to remake it. The version that you can download here was build entirely from scratch - using the same sample sources but this time sampled and used in a higher quality. We then proceeded to also build a version that goes a little beyond that. To call it a remix would be a stretch - but it certainly is a VIP - featuring a longer Hellraiser sample and a drum n bass breakdown. \r\n\r\nYou have heard this track in TOA sets in the last couple of years - we figured it was time to unleash it upon you... 20 years after the original came out.\r\n\r\nWe hope you will enjoy this remake!",

          "about": "at the time of making this album, i'd been struggling to make music, ESPECIALLY for myself. even though i still enjoyed making music and wanted to make music all the time, it felt more and more difficult to sit down and work on music. \r\n\r\ni'd wanted to make a proper ep/album for a few years now, but progress has been slow. however, this ep was made in just a day (ish). it was just a big explosion of emotion and ideas, and was meant to be wacky, but still genuine and emotional. i just wanted to tell my brain: \r\n\r\n“HEY!!! you still got this!!! stop putting yourself down!!! if you can do THIS, you can do ANYTHING!!!” \r\n\r\n***\r\n\r\none day, i was at the park, drawing with friends, and i was like, \"dang, why are trees so hard to draw.” i was trying to draw one of the trees at the park as accurately as i could. \r\n\r\nmy friend quickly replied: \"what do you mean? trees are easy to draw, see!\" and drew a quick, simple tree.\r\n\r\nthe idea that creative acts must be masterful and groundbreaking to be worthwhile seems to be drilled deep in everyone's mind. but we're just here to have fun, dang it! let go and just make stuff!!",

          "about": "Earthblade was formally revealed in December of 2022, and canceled in December of 2024. It was in development for a number of years, and over that period of time I wrote quite a few pieces—both conceptual, and implemented tracks—that began to depict the world of the game. Because we’ll never get a chance to tell that story in game form, I decided to cobble together every bit of music I’d written for the game to the point of its cancellation in order to tell my own version of it.\r\n\r\nAcross the Bounds of Fate, more so than a soundtrack, is a concept album. The music I wrote for the game is highly dynamic, in the tradition of what I wrote for Celeste. I took it many steps beyond, in ways that temporally-constrained pieces of music can’t really do justice. But I did my best to arrange them into the emotional arc of their progression, much like I would for any soundtrack release.\r\n\r\nA lot of my inspiration for the overall sound of Earthblade came from older animation and film. The huge Yamaha synths of Vangelis. The weird textures and combination of old synths & live strings of Joe Hisaishi’s score for Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The haunting saxophone and percussive textures of Yoko Kanno’s work on Cowboy Bebop & Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. It’s a combination of sounds I really love and hope to explore on some other project in the future.\r\n\r\nFor now, tuck in and enjoy around 30 minutes of music that paint the picture of what I hoped Earthblade might be.",
